Responsible Business
in Aberdeen

The Power of the Collective

The environment that businesses are operating within could hardly be more uncertain. From the Covid-19 pandemic, transition to net zero, investor pressure on social license to operate, to future workforce.  Leaders are increasingly expected to respond to a myriad of priorities which might previously have been seen as non-core. Responsible Business is fast moving mainstream.  Aberdeen has an engaged business community who are proud of our city and routinely support a wide variety of causes across the economy.

Community Planning is about how organisations work together, and with communities, to design and deliver services which improve people’s lives.  Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) is the name given to a Partnership of organisations that come together to take part in community planning in Aberdeen. CPA sees the public, private and third sector working together with community groups to achieve the shared vision of Aberdeen as ‘a place where all people can prosper’.

In partnership with Business in the Community (BITC), we are reaching out to responsible businesses across Aberdeen who share our aspirations for better outcomes for people, families and communities, to join us in our mission. There is an opportunity for the business community to contribute corporate social responsibility efforts towards lasting, transformational change by working with Community Planning Aberdeen to deliver the City’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP).

Aberdeen City Local Outcome Improvement Plan

The LOIP has three themes: Economy, People and Place.  There are many ways that a responsible business can help contribute to improved outcomes for the people, place and economy of Aberdeen; now and in the future.  The sections below help navigate businesses to the areas of greatest need across our City. Opportunities are updated constantly to reflect the latest data, information and insights.
