Welcome to the event page for Community Planning Aberdeen’s first Community Gathering taking place at the Cowdray Hall (Aberdeen Art Gallery) from 10am to 1.30pm on Saturday the 13th of May 2023. This event is for the people and community groups of Aberdeen to connect with each other and learn how they can get more involved in their community.

Each round of workshops will cover the following:

1.1 How can we improve the health of our communities? Come and find out more about the role of a citizen researcher.

1.2 What does good community engagement look like? How do we ensure everyone has a voice and opportunity to make a difference?

 

1.3 Support and resources – What is available and what do we need to be more active in our communities?

The Art Gallery is a 10-min walk from the train and bus stations.  

By local bus 
Lots of local buses stop on Union street and the Gallery is a short walk along Belmont Street. The closest bus stops are outside His Majesty’s Theatre, on Blackfriars Street and Schoolhill.

Parking

No on-street parking outside the Gallery. The nearest car park is the NCP at Harriet Street, the Bon Accord shopping centre or Denburn.

We do have activities for children and young people available on the day within the art gallery, however children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately there will not be childcare available during the workshops.
