Aberdeen Ignites Challenge Poverty Week 2025
Aberdeen City Council’s Anti-Poverty & Inequality Committee and Community Planning Aberdeen’s Anti-Poverty Group invite everyone to take part in Challenge Poverty Week, running from 6th to 12th October 2025. Aberdeen is gearing up to make a real difference by promoting compassion, justice, and taking action to end the stigma of poverty.
What’s happening?
The week kicks off with Marischal College lighting up in pink and blue—a bold statement that Aberdeen stands united against poverty. Locals can connect with employers at the Jobs and Opportunities Fair, get practical money advice online, and discover support from over 60 charities at the Empower Aberdeen event. There’s also a powerful film and presentation morning at Cowdray Hall, and a family-friendly information day in Tillydrone with free soup and sandwiches.
