Empower Aberdeen 2025

Event overview
Empower Aberdeen is a one-stop support event bringing together charities, advice services, and community organisations to help households across Aberdeen tackle challenges around money, housing, energy, wellbeing, health, and employment. This is the 2nd year of Empower Aberdeen and it’s set to be bigger and more impactful. 

Date & time: Wednesday 8 October 2025, 10:00–14:00
Venue: The Music Hall, Union Street, Aberdeen
Host: Scarf – as part of our 40th year supporting communities across Scotland 

What to expect

  • Over 50 charities and support services already confirmed, with numbers expected to reach around 60. 
  • Hundreds of local residents attending to access free, face-to-face advice. 
  • Opening remarks from the Lord Provost of Aberdeen and Jean Morrison, founder of Scarf and Chair of Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG). 
  • Local politicians, community leaders, and the media in attendance. 

Why it matters 

  • Aberdeen households continue to face rising costs and fuel poverty. 
  • This event is part of Challenge Poverty Week – a national campaign highlighting the urgent need to reduce poverty and support vulnerable households. 
  • Empower Aberdeen creates a visible, accessible platform where residents can connect directly with the organisations best placed to help.
