With industry, commercial and public sector accounting for 38% of carbon emissions in Aberdeen, businesses have a crucial role to play in responding to the climate crisis.

The Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge has been developed, in conjunction with the Net Zero Aberdeen Routemap and Aberdeen Adapts Framework, to accelerate action towards net zero, climate resilient and nature-positive city.

Join local businesses, organisations, schools and citizens in making a commitment to playing a part in Aberdeen’s journey to net zero and climate resilience.

Businesses can help by opening up spaces, land or facilities for community use. This makes better use of what’s already available, supports local groups and activities, and helps create more connected and inclusive neighbourhoods.

Your organisation can come together with partners to shape and deliver local projects that support the Local Outcome Improvement Plan, focusing on neighbourhood and environment and improving the quality of life in communities across Aberdeen.

Businesses can help strengthen local resilience by supporting sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, green spaces and low‑carbon infrastructure. This helps reduce environmental impact, supports healthier neighbourhoods, and prepares communities for future climate challenges.

Help communities to take pride in their local place, protecting and enhancing it for local people and future generations. This could involve helping pick up litter, maintenance works or other environmental solutions. It just takes a bit of teamwork to create an environment we’re all proud to enjoy.
