Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans 2026–2036 Development
Working Together for a Better Aberdeen – Development of our Plans for 2026-36
At Community Planning Aberdeen, we’re working with Locality Empowerment Groups and Priority Neighbourhood Partnerships to shape the future of our city. Together, we’re developing Aberdeen’s next Local Outcome Improvement Plan 2026–2036, along with Locality Plans for the North, South, and Central localities. We’re engaging with communities to ensure local voices guide the decisions that matter most.
Key Timelines and Milestones
- March–May 2025: The Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future engagement campaign ran, gathering the views of residents to inform multiple plans and strategies, including the next ten-year Local Outcome Improvement Plans and Locality Plans for North, South and Central.
- June 2025 Population Needs Assessment 2025, Community Planning Aberdeen Outcome Improvement Report 2024/25 and Locality Plan Annual Outcome Improvement Reports for North, South and Central Localities approved and along with the public engagement results provide the evidence base for the development of the Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans 2026–2036
- June 2025 – results from engagement published
- Mid to Late 2025: Analysis of engagement results and further engagement with communities, involving Locality Empowerment Groups, Priority Neighbourhood Partnerships, and community members, to co-create solutions and develop the plans will be held over the coming months. We’d love for all to participate in these next stages and we will keep you informed of dates and times.
- Early 2026: The draft Plans will be consulted on to ensure that they reflect the right priorities.
- June 2026: The new Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans for 2026–2036 are expected to be launched.

Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future – Engagement Results
From 24 March to 18 May 2025, people across Aberdeen had the chance to shape the future of their communities through Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future — a citywide engagement.
Residents were invited to share what they love about where they live and what changes they would like to see across 14 different themes. We also asked if you agreed with the priorities and actions in our current draft plans and strategies. A total of 2,087 people participated, providing 13,433 comments across the 14 themes. The feedback gathered is now helping to shape a range of important local strategies and plans: the Local Housing Strategy, Health and Social Care Partnership Strategic Plan, Community Learning and Development Plan, Local Development Plan, Visitor Levy Proposal, Children’s Services Plan, and the Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future between 24 March and 18 May 2025.
You can see the results of our engagement in the reports below and watch our video which highlights the ways residents could share your voice in the engagement.
