Neighbourhood and Environment
The vision within our Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) is for Aberdeen to be “a city where everyone can thrive, regardless of background or circumstance”. At the heart of this is a commitment to tackling poverty and inequality, and supporting the city’s people to live healthy lives.
Nature and the environment are a priority. Access to green spaces and nature-based activities supports mental wellbeing, reduces social isolation, and strengthens community cohesion.
This section of the LOIP focuses on how we can do even more to protect, enhance, and promote the positive qualities of Aberdeen as a place to live, work, and visit. There is one ten year outcome and one system change.
Ten Year Outcome 4
Increase proportion of people from Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) 1 who feel they have influence and sense of control by 10% by 2036.
