Children’s Services Board

The Aberdeen Children’s Services Board represents all the key agencies that deliver services for children and young people in Aberdeen City. Its purpose is to ensure the effective delivery of services for children and young people at all stages of their development and growth.

Our Aberdeen City’s Children’s Services Plan 2026-31 sets our vision and priorities for children and young people’s services over the next five years. It outlines how the services working across the Local Authority’s catchment will come together to share resources and services over the next five years to improve outcomes for our children and young people.

Key areas of focus include:

• Best Start in Life: Supporting our Children under 5 and their Parents to ensure they get the best start in life
• Empowered ad Resilient: Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our children and young people
• Attainment and Transitions: Improving educational outcomes of those  for our children and young people
• Supporting those with Additional Support Needs and  Disabilities: the work we will undertake to improve outcomes for this vulnerable cohort children and young people
• Making sure we uphold Children’s Rights in line with the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child into Scots law.
• Keeping the Promise, ensuring sustained multi agency attention to improving the outcomes for children and young people who care experienced to deliver on the commitments set out in The Promise by 2030.
• And Tackling Child Poverty, our strategic approach to tackling child poverty over the next 5 years
